Savings Tips

Here are two tips to save money on clothes:
 1. Don’t be afraid to ask.  Before handing over your credit card to make a purchase, ask if what you’re buying is going on sale soon.  The salesperson might clue you in that a sale is coming up, or might even ring up the sale price right then and there.
 2.  Shop on weekdays.  Hit the stores on a weekday to make sure you get a good selection.  Thursdays are best – you’ll likely be able to take advantage of weekend sales while still having a big selection to chose from.

    Hi Rich and Bob,

Thanks for all you are doing to help people in these increasingly difficult economic times! I appreciate the clothing tips here as I have a wife and two daughters, and clothing is a priority! However – I am blessed that my wife has also taken on the habit of doing 90% of our clothing shopping at thrift stores. We have often been able to purchase an entire season of clothing for one of us for less than $40. When we are judicial, we also can often find new clothes that have never been worn! One other thing we have found very beneficial in clothing shopping is to frequent different thrift stores in the surrounding areas. Garage and yard sales have also often yielded great treasures in used coats, jackets, dresses, etc. I am very appreciative that my wife has become a frugal clothing shopper, as it also allows us to have other freedoms with a little money in other areas, when we shop for clothing this way.

keep up the great work – the blog, newsletters and savings tips are helping us greatly!

    Aaron
